Notes"The question is how well a tiny trackball will work on a Windows PC? We don’t have to wait any longer for the answer. Evergreen in Japan has announced the Micro USB Mouse for Windows that is a portable little USB gadget with a retractable cable. In spite of the name, the “Mouse” is really a little trackball with buttons and while it looks goofy, this is a gadget that might actually be useful for those who like trackballs. No word on pricing or if this will make it to the U.S. but you sure could fit a lot of these little things on those empty ships that used to bring a lot of Toyotas to the U.S."Unfurl
Notes"The original PC-Trac is re-born again as the L-Trac high performance laser optical trackball. Utilizing the latest in laser navigation technology, the L-Trac has selectable resolutions of up to 1600CPI, which are "button selectable", allowing rapid changes of sensitivity. The high performance laser navigation system is capable of tracking at greater than 30 inches per second, even at a 20G acceleration rate. This means the user can "fly" around the screen with a flick of the finger or snap from one side the the screen to the other with a healthy flick of the arm. Either way, this precision, high performance pointing device produces predictable, quick and precise motion that becomes intuitive in a few minutes of use. The optional scroll wheel is smooth and readily accessible, located above the center button. Also an option, the L-Trac can be fitted with two external switch jacks allowing the use of 5 buttons for added flexibility. "Unfurl
Notes"Yep, Kensington is still making desktop trackballs for all of you out there still rocking your original Macworld '92 T-shirts, and its latest model is actually quite attractive -- the SlimBlade trackball features a minimalist low-profile base with four buttons and a ruby red ball. The drivers are equally slick, displaying mode changes on screen in an HUD, letting you know when you've flipped from cursor to media control to view control profiles. Not a bad way to spend $129 if you're into trackballs, we suppose -- and we wholeheartedly support any product whose press release claims it'll turn us into "smooth operators."
